Can inverted or retracted nipples be fixed?

Yes - Corrective surgery to help release the milk duct is one of the key elements of correction.

There are many techniques but the two most common ones involve making an incision and drawing the nipple out to protrude in the desired fashion.

Using a small temporary implant to hold the nipple in position while healing occurs omits to cut the ducts.
The implant is then later removed. Or the ducts are cut and single threads are used to hold the nipple in place.

Can I breastfeed after inverted nipple surgery?

Yes, after surgery with Dr. Wagner where the Milk Ducts are kept intact.

There are occasions when the milk ducts may have to be cut inside the breast tissue to achieve eversion of nipples.
This would be discussed with you before any procedure as breastfeeding can be affected as a result.
Whether this affects you will depend on the grade of nipple inversion and the necessary procedure to correct this.

Dr. Wagner will discuss this in detail with you at your initial consultation.
